Courses Available:

Weekly:

This course is for pupils who want 1 or 2 hour lessons every week and want to take time to learn to drive. Suitable for the novice and nervous pupil, available on pay as you go or block booking basis.

Semi-intensive

This course is for pupils who want 2 or 3 lessons a week lasting 1 and half to 2 hours per lessons. Suitable for pupils who have some experience of driving who may have passed theory or about to take it. Available on a pay as you go or block booking basis.

Intensive

This course is for pupils who have driving experience, have passed theory test and need “polishing up”. Course is based around pupil having a test date or who want to pass in a short time. Typically having lessons everyday from monday with test on Friday. Depending on test times which school has no control over. Available on block booking basis


Pass Plus

This is for pupils who have passed their test and want to gain more experience of driving on Motorways, Night driving, All-weather driving. This could be a benefit for cheaper car insurance (min of 6 hours)

Refresher

This is for people who need a confidence boost or have not driven for  along period of time and feel a few lessons to get them”back in driving mode”.  Avaiable on a pay as you go or block booking basis 

Motorway

This is give pupils experience of driving on motorways at high speed, leaving, joining and overtaking on motorways which they have not experienced whilst learning to drive

Requirements

All pupils must have a UK provisional driving license & be able to read a registration plate at 20m
Theory Test

The test is in two parts, multiple choice questions and Hazard Perception Test(HPT). You have to answer correctly a minimum of 43 out of 50 on multiple choice.

The HPT consists of 15 video clips each 1 minute long. On 14 clips there is 1 hazard on 1 clip there is 2 hazards. Each hazard has a maximum score of 5 and a minimum of 0. To pass the HPT you need to score a minimum of 44 out of 75.

Theory test fee as of 01/04/09 is £31
The test lasts for 1 hour

On passing the Theory test you receive a certificate for passing which is required when booking your practical test


Practical Test

The practical test  lasts for  about 45 minutes with an examiner. During the test you will have to demostrate to the examiner that you can drive the car safely in a business like manner. You will be asked to perform at least 2 manoeuvres. To pass the practical test you can not commit more than 16 minor faults.



Once you pass your test you are for 2 years from date of test on probation. During the 2 years if  you acquire more than 6 penalty points you license will be revoked back to provisional. You will then have to re-take the theory and practical test.
